    We offer two reports, one for the Yline (paternal) and one for the mitochondrial (maternal) lines. Each report costs $349 US.

  2. Who creates the Personalized Reports? faq id: 2075

    Personalized Reports are created by Roberta Estes who is an independent contractor affiliated with Family Tree DNA.

  3. How big (long) are the Personalized Reports? faq id: 2076

    Each report is between 80 and 120 pages. The average length is about 100 pages. It depends on what your DNA has to say.

  4. How do I order a Personalized Report? faq id: 2077

    You may order a Personalized Report from your myFTDNA account. To do so:

    1. Login to your myFTDNA account. (https://www.familytreedna.com/login.aspx)
    2. Click on the Order an Upgrade button on the upper right.
    3. Scroll to where it says "Personalized Reports" and click on the Order Personalized Report button.
    4. On the DNA Results - Personalized Report page, there is an overview of what Personalized Reports offer and a button to place your order. Click the Order Personalized Report button and complete payment.

    Note: If there is not an Order Personalized Report button on the DNA Results - Personalized Report page, it means we have reached the maximum number of orders for the last 7 days. Try again in a day or two, as the 7 day order limit is updated daily.

  5. What happens after I order the report? faq id: 2078

    After you place your order, Roberta Estes will send you a form that has questions about your genealogy. You should also ask any questions that you would like to have answered by the report. You can also send photos that Roberta will use to customize the front cover for your family —These make great gifts! After Roberta receives all of your information and your tests are complete, she schedules your research.

    After you complete the form, the reports generally take from 2 to 4 weeks to complete. The time depends on the waiting-list at that time.

  6. Are there any requirements relative to DNA testing? faq id: 2079

    Yes, if you have taken the Y-DNA test, you must have tested at 37 markers or more. If you have taken the mitochondrial DNA test, you must have tested at the mtDNAPlus level (HVR1+HVR2). The mitochondrial full sequence is preferred, but it is not required. These requirements are so that Roberta Estes has enough information to work with to give you a quality report.

  7. Do you do custom reports for Family Finder (autosomal) results? faq id: 2080

     

    No, we do not. Family Finder and other autosomal tests are heavily dependent on the genealogy work of both the person who takes the test and others who test. Comparing your results for a common ancestor with those you match is accomplished by contacting your matches and working with them. You are the best person to do this, as you know all of your genealogy lines.
